RV670, codenamed Gladiator, has a TDP of 135W and this is actually not bad for a graphics card. R600 has 240W TDP which makes RV670 almost twice better than its previous brother.

The actual power usage of RV670 is just above 100W and this means that there should be a chance that it can work without a power connector at least in PCIe 2.0 motherboard.

RV680. It was just announced unofficially.... R680 is no more if I'm correct.

Oh and it's a beast. And RV670 is on track for a launch in mid November.

If the rumored performance numbers given for RV680 are true (eg up to 1.5x faster than a HD2900XT CF), it might actually be a very nice solution until that next generation GPU comes along.

Just heard from a fairly reliable source that the G92 aka GF8700 performs in between a GF8600GTS and GF8800GTS. It looks like AMD really succeeded in crashin nV's party by releasing the HD2900Pro which offers better performance for the same price one and a half months sooner. And G92 will go up against RV670 in November... and that fight should be in favor of the RV670...

There will be two versions of the GF8700, a GTS and a GX2, which was sort of confirmed by Kinc yesterday who said that there will be a GX2 version of the "die shrink".

Dual RV670 to score 960GigaFlops

ATI's new high end will have two RV670 chips and has many codenames. Some of the ones we've head includes R670 and R680 but lets simply call it dual RV670.

The new card will be able to score an amazing score of 960GigaFlops. This is a bit more than a double the performance of R600 chip which can score 474GigaFlops.

Looks like ATI's next generation high end card with dual RV670 will give Nvidia something to worry about, but Nvidia's next year's high end will also have two chips on two PCBs.

ATI's approach is to have two chips on a single PCB.
