Opera is one of the most customizable browsers in the world, with many powerful, built-in features, but that is not enough for us.
Today we go a step further -- we add another piece of the puzzle: Opera extensions!
I am happy to share an alpha version of Opera 11 with extensions on board.

Extensions
Opera users can already extend their browser with Unite and userJS. You have also our standalone web applications Widgets. But now we're making it even better. Opera extensions allow you to easily equip your Opera browser with extra features. You can get them from our extensions catalog at https://addons.labs.opera.com/
With the Opera 11 alpha, you can personalize your browser with all your pet features and functionality. From now on, it is you who defines the best experience with Opera browser.

Our focus when building an extension mechanism has been to enable closer integration with web pages and web applications, and we look forward to see what the creative developer community will come up with.

Opera 11 alpha marks the beginning of the extensions mechanism in Opera. Before Opera 11 goes final we plan to include auto update for the extensions and a few other nice features to expand the functionality exposed to developers.

Opera 11 alpha is not only about extensions. We equipped it with brand new Opera Presto 2.6.37 with improved performance, hundreds of bug fixes, enhancements in Web Standards support and support for Websockets.

A new installer
At Opera we love speed and like to make everything fast, not only the browser but also the installation of Opera. Opera 11 will ship with a new installer for Windows. The installation/upgrading is now twice as fast, and the installer download is about 10% smaller. Off course we'll optimize it even further in future builds.

aktualizovala sa mi opera na operu 11 a teraz sa mi zmenili ikony rychleho pristupu na strany. Ako to mam zmenit, je to sirokouhle, strasne roztiahnute a hrozne sa mi to nepaci. Uz sa mi to raz stalo pri aktualizacii na vyssiu verziu a musel som prejst opat na starsiu. Da sa to nejako zmenit? Dakujem za rady
