mohli by ste sem hodiť všetko čo viete o pripravovaných novinkách ohľadne GPU s 28 nm jadrom.
Ďakujem

At the heart of every AMD GPU is a power aware high performance set of compute units that have been advancing to bring users new levels of programmability, precision and performance. Starting with the introduction of the HD 2000 family of Unified Shader Systems to the PC consumer markets in 2007, AMD has delivered four unique generations. In this presentation, an overview of AMD's Graphics Core Next architecture will be introduced. We’ll talk about the architecture of this new shader system, and how it provides improvements to the necessary software stack and creates user programming flexibility. We believe you will obtain an understanding of this new architecture and how it lays the foundation for future AMD architectures.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/graphics/d ... _Year.html"In a couple of days you are going to hear about our exciting new graphics architecture that will be coming out later this year and will be utilized by our future APUs," said Rick Bergman, senior vice president and general manager of AMD products group.

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20110707PD211.htmlTSMC originally expected its 28nm capacity at Fab15 to be available in the fourth quarter of 2011 and was set to start pilot production for its 20nm process technology in the third quarter of 2012.
However, TSMC's other major client Qualcomm, currently, still has not yet adjusted its 28nm process schedule and is set to launch three new products, 8960. 8270 and 8260A using dual-core Krait architecture in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Meanwhile, AMD will follow its original schedule and enter the 28nm era in the first half of 2012. The company's next-generation graphics chips Southern Island as well as Krishna and Wichita processors, which will replace the existing Ontraio and Zacate processors
http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=103 ... ostcount=1AMD's Graphics Core Next Gen architecture is scheduled to appear in products due in Q4, 2011, as both Eric Demers and Rick Bergman confirmed for us. It is likely they will use TSMC's 28nm process, and have a dual architecture split like Northern Islands. If so, then this time Cayman VLIW-4 architecture hits the mainstream, and the next generation architecture debuts in the high end - similar to AMD's deployment of VLIW-4 in the Radeon HD 6000 series. This makes sense for compatibility with APUs, if Trinity is using VLIW-4 then the discrete GPUs will need to as well for best compatibility and performance.
http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php? ... tcount=454The latter part is just a speculation on their side, the interview itself gives no hint of that. And considering the ASIC IDs for the shader compiler it appears almost unlikely, if they don't do a straight shrink of Cayman (maybe reduced SIMD count) with no functional changes and reuse its ID (like the RV740 reused the RV770 ID).

Radeon HD 7000 Series PCI-Express 3.0 Compliant
Soon you will see a new wave of motherboards getting PCIE 3.0 support but well, there's nothing out there utilizing all that extra bandwith and power spec.
Well, good news, AMD's next generation of graphics processors (HD 7000 series) reportedly will be PCI-Express Generation 3 compliant. The desktop discrete graphics cards will feature PCI-Express 3.0 x16 bus interfaces, and will be fully backwards-compatible with older versions of the bus, including Gen 1 and Gen 2.
PCIE 3.0 doubles the bandwidth over PCI-E 2.0, with 1 GB/s of bandwidth per lane, per direction. PCI-Express 3.0 x16 would have 32 GB/s (256 Gbps) of bandwidth at its disposal, 16 GB/s per direction.
AMD: Xbox 720 graphics will look like Avatar
Technology company AMD, who supplied the graphics hardware for the Xbox 360, claims that the next Xbox will be capable of the level of graphical detail seen in James Cameron's movie Avatar. Even on PC, that kind of technology just isn't here yet, but AMD claims the Xbox 720 will launch with it.
While AMD would not confirm they were actually working on the 360's successor, director of ISV relationships at AMD, Neal Robison, stated that gamers have a lot to excited about.
Robison also mentioned that the A.I. and physics capabilities of the next-gen hardware will allow for every pedestrian in a game such as Grand Theft Auto or Saints Row to have a totally individual mentality, meaning when you shoot a gun or run someone over they don't all just do the same thing. There will be no more mob mentality, where everyone just screams and runs away; every NPC will actually be an individual character.
