Ahojte, mam doma WD 750GB caviar black. Mam s nim dva problemy. Mam ho pripojeny na SATA2 radici na chipsete (zostava z popisu) z dovodu ze ten Marvell 9128 je cely nanic .. len tak si vyhadzuje bsody . Ked behaju posty pise mi ze ten WD ide len 1,5Gbps ale Seagate 3.0Gbps. A druha vec, neskutocne hlucne seekuje. existuje nieco na AAM na WD diskoch ? Ten disk ide average 74MB/s , seagate 96MB/s. Dakujem

AAM moze, ale nemusi byt dostupny. Bohuzial v poslednej dobe uz AAM niektore disky nemaju. Vyskusas, uvidis :

Co sa tyka rychlosti, pozri si jumpery vzadu na disku, ci si nahodou neaktivoval natvrdo SATA 1 mod :

PS: Ale necakaj nejake velke rozdiely, SATA1 je stale 150MB/s, tj vysoko nad tym co tvoj disk dokaze.

nn pozeral som, ja mam SATA3 disk takze tam mam len jumper na znizenie na SATA2 ... prestudoval som cele stranky WD ale nic som nenasiel ... zlate samsungy a estool

dnes som upgradol na posledny firmware Marvellu 9128 ... zatial ziaden BSOD ... no rychlosti sa nepohli cez 100MB/s ... AAM tiez nefunguje .... preco ten disk volaju WD Black ???? ... Mne sa zda ze bratov WD green ide lepsie ako toto ... asi mi na buduce odporucite samsung alebo seagate ze ?

Super... ten isty disk mame .. jemu ide 130 a mne 100 na dvoch rozdielnych radicoch ... nemam ziadny jumper v tom HDD ... este ho vytiahnem a dam do bratovho PC ... o chvilku tu bude moj HD tune

It could be your chipset drivers are outdated or there is a problem with the drive. Is the AMD SATA controller detecting the drive as a SATA 1 drive (as you mentioned in the forum post) and the speed you are getting is quite slow then it would be something with that controller. You also have to understand that the speed is determined a lot on the computer specifications as well.

Have you set any jumpers on the Caviar Black drive? Did you contact the BIOS manufacturer to ensure there is no setting in the BIOS that would prevent the accurate speed from coming through (even if the Seagate is working fine)?
