How to set up SATA/SATA RAID as Windows Booting Device (for mainboards powered by Silicon Image SATA RAID)?
1. If you select "SATA" at "Sil3114 S-ATA Control" BIOS Setup menu and intend to use normal SATA as booting device, please prepare one piece of clean floppy diskette.
* Follow the path "SIL3114" -> "DRIVE" to enter the subdirectory "NONRAID" on driver CD.
* Copy all the files under "NONRAID" subdirectory to the clean floppy diskette.
* Start installing Windows.
* Press "F6" when Windows OS installation guides the user to do so.
* Insert the floppy diskette when the screen shows the message asking you doing so.
* Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
2. If you select "SATA RAID" at "Sil3114 S-ATA Control" BIOS Setup menu and intend to use SATA as booting device, you can use RAID driver floppy diskette that we attached with the shipped motherboard.
* Start installing Windows operation.
* Press "F6" when Windows OS installation guides the user to do so.
* Insert the floppy diskette when the screen shows the message asking you doing so.
* Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
3. If you intend to use SATA under SATA RAID, please press "CTRL-S" at the very beginning to set up the type of RAID when there's request message from the screen. Then, select "SATA RAID" at "Sil3114 S-ATA Control" under "Genie BIOS Setting" menu. The following procedure to install the Windows operating system will be the same.
* Start Windows installation.
* Press "F6" when Windows OS installation guides the user to press this function key if you intend to install the OS onto SATA
* Insert the floppy diskette when the screen shows the message asking you doing so.

ten som uz skusal, skusal som aj verziu vt6420 v550, ani ta nejde, skusal som aj driver zo stranky biostar, ani ten nejde, skusal som aj rozne sata drivery pre nforce chipsety, nic nefungiruje. Vo win v device manageri mi ukazuje stale :
scsi and raid controllers :
VIA ATA/ATAPI host controller
(!) VIA serial ata raid controller
niekedy (ked odinstalujem nforce driver) aj
other devices :
(!) serial ata raid controller
v biose mam povolene sata. Po kazdom starte, pri bootovani, medzi memory testom a pred natahovanim winu mi na kratko ukaze nieco ako:
VIA SATA RAID CONTROLLER vt6420 , via technologies
